About Me
Telling Stories In Words and Frames
Hi, I’m B. Mitchell (aka Brendan Smoller) — a writer and filmmaker who believes every project deserves great storytelling, whether it’s a short film, feature, commercial, script, or something that lives somewhere in between.
I write and create projects that balance strong storytelling with a clear visual voice. My work ranges from narrative filmmaking to creative development, always with the goal of making something memorable, engaging, and—ideally—worth watching more than once.
Along the way I’ve learned that the best creative work happens when talented people actually enjoy working together. I take the work seriously, but not myself, and I try to bring curiosity, collaboration, and a little humor to every project.
If you’re looking for someone who can develop ideas, shape stories, and help bring them to life on screen, we’ll probably get along just fine.
In addition to writing and directing, I’m also available for crew-for-hire work. I hold a degree in Television and Film Production and have experience working on set in a variety of roles, including Assistant Director (AD), 2nd Assistant Director (2nd AD), Cinematographer, Key Grip, and Camera Assistant (AC). Having worked across multiple departments, I understand how productions function from the ground up and bring that perspective to every project I’m part of.
If you have a project in mind—or just want to talk about one—I’d love to hear from you.
